Pierre was from St-Pierre, bourg et ar. La Roche-sur-Yon, ev. Lucon,Poitou
(now Vendee), France. He was said to be 66 at his death. He answered thathe
was 38 in 1666 in Montreal, and that he was 55 in 1681 at the recording,and
living on the Isle Orleans. He was cited as being i Basset, as a servanton
20 DEC 1658.

HE was a miller and was the only member of his family to come to NewFrance.
After having been a farmer, he took under bail the mill of the Jesuits at
Sillery, and became in 1679, by contract, miller of the Manor of Beaupre,and
the Isle Orleans. He then aquiredthe mill of Francois Berthelot. In 1681,he
had seven acres of land and two cows.
