He was from St. Philibert du Pont-Charrault, Chontonnay, La Roche-sur-Yon,
Lucon, Poitou, France. He died sometime between 7 MAR 1687 and 19 NOV1691 at
Ste-Francois, I.O., PQ. He said that he was on I.O. at the 1666, 1667 &1681
recordings. Left La Rochelle on 14 MAY, 1658.

Richard and Ella Jones are buried in Plot #4 & #5, NE - 274-C inTahomaCemetary. Deed to the se two plots was purchased by Richard JonesonApril 8, 1927. Certificate of ownership and Pe rpetual CareAgrement#1337 was issued on April 27, 1927. The receipt read asfollows:"Receiv ed from Richard Jones the sum of Fifty-Nine dollars,account ofthe following items:
Sale of Grave No. 4 & 5 in NE Quarter, Block 274, Sec. C - $20.00
Charge for digging Grave No. 5 NE, Blk #274, Sec. C - $5.00
Charge for Perpetual Care No. 4 & 5 NE, Blk #274, Sec. C - $30.00
Charge for Marker - $2.00
Charge for Device - $2.00
Total - $59.00

Richard's Social Security #535-12-7494.

Shortly after the death of Ella in April 1927, Richard sold theJones'home in Terrace Height s and gave the money to Paul and DorothyDodge tobuild a home in Yakima, with the agreement t hat he would alwayshave aplace to live. Upon the completion of the home in Yakima on 4th Avenue,Richard remained part of the Dodge family. He also resided withBerniceand her family i n Wapato Washington.


Ella Gunhilda JOHNSON

Ella Johnson was buried in Tahoma Cemetary, approximately April 8,1927,in Grave #5 in NE qua rter, Blk 274, Sec. C. See note on RichardJones'RIN #31 regarding receipt for purchase of g rave and the specificsof thecharges incurred.
Paraphrasing Dorothy May Jones, "I was born in North Dakota, and raisedinSaskatchewan, Canad a where my parents had moved to homestead nearothersin their family. My father farmed, an d my mother (Ella) was thetimnyscommunity's school teacher. My mother was my teacher. Sheu nderstoodseven languages and spoke three (Norwegian, English andFrench) fluently."Over th e years, Dorothy Maty always said, "When I wasborn, mother was20 years old and daddy was 30. " On that basis, Ella'syear of bieth wasestablished at 1888.

Richard and Ella managed the Post Office at East End, Saskatchewan foraperiod of time.
