!COMMENT: See "French Canadian and Acadian..." source notes on son Jean.He was
witness at the sale of lands in Autheuil, and it is said that he wasunable to
sign his name. This was in Tourouvre Monday, January 6, 1578. He actsagain a
a witness Sunday, August 13, 1581 and Friday April 15, 1583, and he andhis
wife Marie Huet arrange a donation for the one who will survive theother. Tih
sdocument, discreetly concealed among all the others, is the only onewhich
gives us the family name of Jean Guyon's mother.

He was born and baptised at St-Aubin-de-Tourouvre, Mortagne, Perche,France
He was from Tourouvre, Mortagne diocese, Chartres or Sees, in the distictof
Perche (now Orne). Working 14 MAR 1634, for Robert Giffard. He was amason.
Received a concession of land behind Duboisson within Beauport 14 MAR1634,
and left it to his son Jean. He arrived at Quebec on a ship commanded by
Captain deVille, 8 AUG, 1634. They left Dieppe at the end of May. Hemarried
in France, at; St-Jean-de-Mortagne, Chartres, Perche.

!COMMENT: "French Canadian and Acadian Genealogical Review", Spring 1968.Page
16-26. He signed his name as "Guion", and it is from him that Guyon, andmany
Dion and Dionnes descend. His godfathers are Jean Collin and PierreDolivet,
and godmother Catherine Goddin. He grew up in Tourouvre, on May 18, 1614,he
signed at loan to Pantaleon Bigot, a farmer from Autheuil, a sumconsisting of:
"a small gold pistol, pieces of fifty-two sons, quarters of crowns andother
silver pieces". For a value of about 84 pounds. He was already a masonalthough
only 24 years of age, was very successful. Jean built the old stairs ofthe
steeple tower of the church at Tourouvre in 1615. He was then living inthe
parish of St-Jean de Mortagne, province of Perche, France.
