Memories By The Dozens
Do you remember that bright special day
When we were vowed to live the rest of our days away
And we so loved each other like no two others around
But somehow now we've lost it and it really can't be found
Maybe I've been mistaken, maybe it was a game
But you said that you loved me, and I said the same
Now we have grown so bitter, not wanted each other near
I guess love's not forever, well at least not with you dear
But I've got memories by the dozens
And buckets full of tears
And long quiet nights
Just wanting you near
Well I've been losing sleep for weeks now
'Cause the bed seems so empty
And my eyes are stained with silence
This ain't the way it's supposed to be
Somebody once said, you'd lead a different life
And not include me in just because you were my wife
Well they sure called your number and bet against your lies
'Cause now you're off in another world, with another lonely guy
But I've got memories by the dozens
And buckets full of tears
And long quiet nights
Just wanting you near
Well I've been losing sleep for weeks now
'Cause the bed seems so empty
And my eyes are stained with silence
This ain't the way it's supposed to be
Yes my eyes are stained with silence
This ain't the way it's supposed to be
