I previously thought my family came from the Angers, France area.
I have now found out
that they were only married there, but Pierre Menard (1549)
was from a town called
Anjou, Isere, Rhone-Alpes in France.
Pierre Menard had a son Jean Pierre (b:1599 or 1600) who married Anne Savinelle (b:1610)
in
a town called Fontenay, Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France.
Jean Pierre & Anne had two sons (that I know about so far)
Jacques (1629-1707) married Catherine Forestier (1640-1694)
Pierre (1636-1697) married Marguerite Deshayes (1646-1709)
Both sons died in died in Canada with big families:
Jacques died at age 78 in Chambly, Quebec, Canada (13 children)
Pierre died at age 61 in Saint Ours, Richelieu, Quebec, Canada (7 children)
Chambly is 2 hours to the south from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada
St. Ours is 2 hours to the south from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada
Montreal is 1 hour 45 minutes to the southwest of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada
Quebec City is 1 hour 30 minutes to the northeast of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada
